  1. This semester is going alright for me, so far I know it can be better and I am determined to try to change it for the better. One problem I am facing is my natural instinct for procrastination. Over the weekends, when I know I have no class and I have plenty of time to work on homework, I tend to sit back and relax instead of finishing my homework. Another problem I have is forgetting things a lot. Sometimes I am preoccupied by one thing so much that I completely forget about the other things I need to do. Forgetfulness, for me, is mainly caused by a lack of dividing time efficiently among all the things I need to do. I know how to deal with my procrastination, which is to ignore the urges I get for wanting to relax and force myself to work on homework first then relax, so I can have fun without the stress of homework on my mind. Also I can get the satisfaction of completing my homework early. I can deal with my inefficient ways of timing by keeping a planner and also keeping it up-to-date, so if I miss any assignments I have only my laziness to blame because I should have known when the assignment was due. Having a planner and keeping it updated with due dates and test dates will not help me divide my time better, it will also help me improve my study ways in school.

    1. Sounds like you have a good plan for dealing with procrastination. Use your fun and relaxing activities as a reward for getting your studying done.

  3. This semester has been really tough and contains a lot of stress. I am taking 5 classes. My hardest class in this semester is physics 210, that class makes me very confused and lost. I do not even know where to begin with it. she does a lot of exams, which makes it even tougher. My second hardest class is engineering. The teacher is very strict and asks for a lot of homework. The class also is a 3 hours class and he makes us work so hard in those 3 hours to the point where we get really exhausted. Other than those two classes, I really like and enjoy my other classes. They are so much fun to be in and very interesting, and enjoyable. I actually learn a lot of new things in my classes, things about my self and about the world, which makes everything a lot more interesting that it is. My goal for this semester is to maintain the highest grades possible in order to raise my GPA because i will hopefully be going to state next semster and want to have a high gpa

    1. Hi Marln,
Engineering is a tough, but rewarding major. Be sure to get tutoring and ask for help if you get lost. You have already completed some challenging courses, so be persistent and finish your classes successfully this semester.

  4. At times this semester is going just fine but then other times it can be really stressful. I am taking four classes this semester and all of them have plenty of work. If I don't set time aside to work on my assignments everyday then things get a little bit chaotic. The challenge that I am facing is procrastination. At the beginning of the semester I was doing pretty good about doing my assignments a while before the due date. However, I am now starting to fall behind and wait for the last minute to do my homework. That puts a lot of stress on me but I am the only one who can fix that problem. The “how to change a habit” assignment has helped me a lot with this problem but I tend to fall off track with it some days. The class that I tend to fall behind in is my Chicano History class. I have three different books that I have to read every week. If I don't do my readings for one week them I am extremely behind in that class. A solution I have come up with for this problem is reading the pages that are due from one book in one day. The next day I will read the second book, then third book the next day. By taking this semester one day at a time I know I can successfully get through it.

  7. This semester has been very hard for me so far. I do not mean the curriculum, but the amount of classes I am taking. This semester has definitely taught be better time-management skills. I attend National University full time. Those who are not familiar with that school, it is an accelerated school that completes a full course in just 4 weeks. I am also enrolled in my last 3 courses here at Cuyamaca that I need in order to graduate with my bachelor's degree. I will be achieving my degree in May. I am very excited! The most difficult part is managing my time. With work, school and trying to fit in a social life, it has been very difficult. I also remind myself that it is important to set priorities in life. My main priority is to complete my bachelor's degree and some things are going to have to be put on hold for a while, like having a social life. I am getting through it by constantly reminding myself that I am almost at the finish line. I have also realized that many things in life do not come easy, and you have to work towards your goal. That is my main motivation.

  8. Being out of school for more than ten years has been an adjustment for my family and me. Starting my first semester at Cuyamaca was challenging and nerve wrecking because it has been so long. But having the support of my husband and family I knew it was my time to go back to school and finish my degree. Finishing with a high G.P.A. last semester, gave me more confidence for the upcoming semesters. This semester has been a little tough for me, since someone close to me died of cancer. This has been a struggle for myself just to get back on track, but since the funeral I have been pushing myself to complete my assignments and planning out my schoolwork through out the week. I love to be organized in all the things I do at home and in school. So getting on the right track for me is having the support of my family, friends and teachers telling and showing me I can do it. Going through this difficult time makes me realize that I can handle anything that comes my way. Taking it day by day takes time and patience for everything to get back to normal. I know at the end of this semester I will do great, and will succeed and be determined to pass all my classes.

I was a nervous rack on the first day of school, but thanks to my husband he has pushed me a long way. I just lost my grandpa 2 days ago and I'm trying not to let my heavy heart get in the way of my school work. I want to keep encouraging you to get school done it will be so rewarding for the both of us. Keep up the good work. People are looking to you and you will set the example for others.

  9. My Generation is the New Millennial, my generation is all about technology, so that will relate to my future career choice, since my major Is accounting I know I will be using the computer a lot and other programs such as excel, access and so on, to do most of the work, my mom was an accounting years ago and she said that they didn't have the technology or programs that we have now. so I know that my work will be fun and easier to do.

  10. This semester is good so far because I am not stressed out about school or anything. I'm only taking two classes this semester because I work full time I can not concentrate on school that much if I take more than two classes. Last semester I took three classes and I couldn't make it to the end I ended up failing all of them, and good thing they were all pass/ no pass so it basically didn't affect my GPA. I had my sister helping me with some of the homework but the homework was a lot so I couldn't so all the assignments. Because of that I decided to take less classes so I can pass the class easily. My only challenge is working a lot and it is not giving me time to study, but I am still focusing on my education. The only was that I can deal with this roadblock is by doing my homework the night before. For example, when I come back from work I eat and take a shower, and if I wanted I could take a nap after that I can do my homework since I only have school on Tuesday and Thursday. This way I will not get frustrated about school and homework. This is if I only want to continue studying to become a better person. I still have not decided what I want to do and what career should I chose. I also have many classes to take and I have not done my Ed plan because I really do not have time to make an appointment with a counselor, because the time when I get home the office will be close.

    1. It is a wise decision to take only 2 courses. Hopefully this course will help in choosing a major. You can use the online counselor for your ed plan. See the link on the Cuyamaca home pate or in the assignments section of Blackboard.

At first, this semester was very difficult for me, but now I'm trying more to be good in it. I know that I will become better if I tried more and worked hard to get success, But I still facing some challenges and roadblocks because I am working, and I am also a full-time student at the same time. That's why I feel nervous because of the pressure of work and study. Also, I don't have time for rested and sleep well. If I need to deal with both of them, I need to divide the time between rest and sleep before work, and doing all my homework on time.

My generation is New Millennial. It is connected between two different generations. For me, I am living with the new technology, so I learn many things by technology. ِAt school, I learned everything about how to use a computer, and software. That's why I gained a lot of information and I worked to develop it. Also, in my previous work, I had to use the computer programs all the time especially the Word and Excel for an account and doing my job. Since my major is business administration and accounting, I need to use the computer always. Now we need a computer to do everything because we can't do anything without technology, So the work became easier than before.

This is the first semester that I feel comfortable with it because its only 9 units, so I don't spend too much time to study. 15. When it comes to giving a friend advice before they are interviewed for a job that is really important I would start with getting a background info about the job and going from there. After that I would make sure that my friend knows that she needs to dress professionally because the way you show up to an interview, especially an important one, can say a lot about you from the start; nobody would want to hire someone that looks like they just got out of bed. After making sure her attire is appropriate I would tell her to not allow herself to get nervous and try to think about how badly she wants the job and even if she has to fake her confidence to do it because nobody likes people that are shy at interviews and they will not be likely to hire them because they like those that feel confident and are outspoken. Also I would add that she should review questions that she thinks they would ask her and make her read them to me to make sure her answers to their questions are well stated.

  17. Hi everyone,
If I have a friend that she has an interview for a job , I will give her an advice to get the right way like I will tell her, be patient always, be happy whatever the result, and trust on herself. When she goes to the interview and when she sit with the manager, she smiles and talk with him and tell him about her resume and her experience in her life and in the job, talk a lot about herself with the right way and don't be shy. Also, for sure the manager will ask her some questions, so her answers should be in the right place and make the manager happy about her, at the end of the interview, she should ask the manager what is the result and tell him if he accept her, she will be a good worker all the time.

  18. Hello,
In this semester I am good so far, but at the beginning I found very great difficulty and I was confused and hesitant much to stay or quit was my desire and my insistence to stay stronger, because I had the motivation in me a strong will to survive and work step by step to success, it is necessary that each and every one of us faces obstacles and difficulties in his life but the human will to survive and determination is much stronger than frustration and defeat and be always optimistic and paints his plans for the better. Now I am the best case than I was because I took the topic in a positive and easy and I try and I will try to edit a goal step by step and in its own right.

  19. Hello again,
Of the most important advice that I can I provide to my friends before applying for a particular job is, read more about the job and the search for them, so you will have information that will help you succeed in the interview and give a good impression and show that you are really interested for this job. Give a good impression, in terms of fashion dress befitting for an interview, not to wear a lot of jewelry in the interview, and upon entering the interview room, smile, introduce yourself, and shake hands with the interview, relax and feel confident during the interview and maintain eye contact with the other hand and sit up straight. Listen carefully to the interview questions asked to clarify any questions you do not understand, and the answer briefly and honestly. All this will bring you a good interview.

This semester is going so good for me, I study every single day, I follow the deadlines and I do my homework before the due dates. Sometimes I struggle with computer class, which is a little bit hard for me especially when I try to find the answers for the questions, but I always ask my daughters about them so they can help me, but after I used to the material, now I find it so easy to find the answers and how to get to them. 21. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?

The tips that I would give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job is to make a pre-interview with someone he knows so he can practice the questions and what are they going to ask hi, but before all that, he should prepare his resume so the interviewer knows his skills and where did he work before so he can reach his ex-manager, also he has to put on clothes that fit to the job he is applying for, he should also be polite and use body language like shaking and eye contacting. These techniques could hep anyone to get a job.

  22. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?
    My tips it's:
Do Your Research,Researching the company before the interview and learning as much as possible about its services, products, customers and competition will give you an edge in understanding and addressing the company's needs
Look Sharp,Select what to wear to the interview
Be Prepared,Bring along a folder containing extra copies of your resume, a copy of your references and paper to take notes
Be on Time,Never arrive late to an interview.
Show Enthusiasm,A firm handshake and plenty of eye contact demonstrate confidence. Speak distinctly in a confident voice.
Listen,One of the most neglected interview skills is listening
Answer the Question Asked and Make sure you understand what is being asked, and get further clarification if you are unsure.
    Give Specific Examples
Ask Questions, when you don't ask questions, you will miss the opportunity to find out valuable information. The questions you ask indicate your interest in the company or job
Follow Up,Whether it's through email or regular mail, the interview follow-up is one more chance to remind the interviewer of all the valuable traits you bring to the job and company. Don't miss this last chance to market yourself.

My semester is going good for me, I study and do my homework every single day and I turn them on Sunday to make sure that everything I’m doing is right and I can get a good grade for it. And for the online text book, I do part of it each day. I’m facing some challenges, for language especially when I’m an English learner and I have all this homework to do, but overall I’m okay with it even if it’s kind of hard I’m getting used to it and it’s also helping my language to become better and better.

  24. My tips to my friend will be that before the interview, you have to do some research about their company to know the history and activity they have, sometimes they ask a person about their company to see what they know about them, so be prepare for this part. The most important thing dress for success, you have to wear casual, no short skirt, no heavy makeup. Have your resume ready and make sure there is no mistake and everything is correct, and make sure that you list all your skills and strength, work experience, education. Be prepare for the interview question practice really good before going to interview, practice with somebody else or see a career consoler just to make sure that you have enough information. Confident is very important, think about every question they might ask before answering anything. Do not be nerves, shaking hands before sitting and wait for the person to tell you to sit, also eye contact is very important in interview. Always have smile on your face even if you are scared or nerves. That will be my advice to my friend if she has job interview, I did so many jobs interview and I learned from my mistakes, and one day I made it and I was accepted for the job.

The tips that I would give for my friends if they’re interviewed for a job that is really important is that first of all they should trust themselves and don’t be shy, they should also speak kind of loud so the interviewer can hear them and they should talk with him no more than the question he or she asks them. They should be prepared before they go for example they should at least make 3 copies of their resume and they should know everything on it so the interviewer ask them anything they don’t get nervous they answer.

  26. This semester is going well. I have been doing well in all of my classes, getting good grades, enjoying the subjects, etc. This semester is easier for me because I am enjoying my classes with no struggles, I go to school 3 times a week and I get a good amount of sleep which I did not get last semester. The only struggle I have would be time management. My plate is always full with not just school work but other things in my life, one of them being house work. I feel like I always have something to do or to worry about and sometimes it can be overwhelming for me. I wish I had more time for friends, family and time to relax. I wish my plate wasn't so full and I had less things to worry about. I am very busy, but the good thing is that school has not been to difficult for me this semester. I have to prepare myself for harder classes in the future because it's just going to get harder from here. I need to work on my time management so that I can have time for me, my family, friends and school. If I figure that out, I will be much more successful in the future.

  27. This semester is going good for me far. I have been attending classes at least two times a week and taking one class online. Counseling 120 have increase my level of knowledge about how to be successful and choosing the right path to reach the ultimate goal. I am able to manage my time among work, school and extra activities such as working out. I work about forty hours a week but I do not see this as a excuse for not completing a college education. The only challenge is starting college and once you make that effort to start everything goes in place. In the future I know there would challenges but I am preparing myself mentally and physically. I also owe my progress to the counseling class because I am able to implement what I have read practically every day. At times I will slack off a bit in time management but eventually I get out of my comfort zone and remind my self about my ultimate goal.

  28. The tips I would give a friend before him or her interview for a job is to prepare themselves mentally. Before a person attend an interview he or she should research the company; examine the opportunities for promotion and if the company is global. Also you can look at the benefits of working with that company and if the workers morale is high. In preparing for the interview ensure that you dress properly, do not be nervous and remain calm. Always answer the questions that are ask with confidence make the interviewer see that your are knowledge of the subject for discussion and eager to join the team to increase growth. I will also advice to give your honest opinion let the interviewer see that you are transparent although in the United States today some people do not like to hear the truth. there is a saying that you have to play the political correctness game but I am not that type of person but that is how society define itself. Another advice is to have good references, remove anything that is negative from your face book profile because companies like snooping around to find more information and sure the company that you are highly motivated. Always show up for the interview about thirty minutes early this gives you time to workout any last minute kinks. When you are called in the room for the interview render the courtesies, introduce yourself and after the interview give a vote of thanks for getting the opportunity to interview.

This class have helped me understand college more and it got me thinking about my future in a lot of better ways. Everyone of us needs to have a goal set and by that I mean having a major could make college go so much easier. My major is international business, I finally got to pick a major after doing a lot of researches and asking here and there to figure out what I want to do in the future. I am currently finishing my general education units and then I’ll start taking my major units and hopefully transfer to university. Overall, this semester is going good for me by far and I hope it’s going good for everyone and once again, this class is very helpful for any student that is looking to finish college and go to university.

Also it is very important to spend time learning about the company, research the company’s profile and background. Think about questions to ask the interviews, good questions can make good first impression, practicing these questions before heading to the interview is very important, also expecting question from the interviewer and try to think about the possible questions and try to practice it. Last is of course speaking clearly, dressing right and being confident.

  33. I think my semester is going good so far. One challenge that I am facing is caring for my child, housework and getting my work done. I like to provide the best of my work and I sometimes feel that I may spend too much time on my school work and feel I neglect my son when I do my work. In order for me not to feel this way I will try to use come up with a schedule to help me with time management. I will schedule us throughout the day for play time, along with a schedule of doing the house work and school work. I know it will not be exactly as I am going to plan it but at least that way I will have time out of the day I know I can spend with my son without worrying about anything else. In addition, I will try to schedule school work when my husband comes home from work. I will also have activities for him to do that will keep him stimulated while I do my school work. I hope by practicing this it will benefit both my son and I, so I can reach my goal of finishing school.

    1. Going to school with small children is very challenging. Is there anyone who can help with child care? Going to school is doing something good for your children because they are likely to go to college also. If you get too frustrated, consider taking fewer courses. You will gradually accomplish your goals. Good job!

  34. I belong to the Generation Z and this particular generation is so open minded , diverse, globalized and geek that is redefinining the "traditional values" of the Baby Boomers, This generation is creating its individual identity rather that following family traditions and previous social behaviors. The work is influenced by individual skills . Gender, Race, Ethnicity and Religion are irrelevant to get the job done and we using technology as a problem solver, and their solutions affect the entire world, not just the social circle the individual belongs to. This characteristics will help this generation to adapt to the constantly changing society and world we live in. There are not boundaries for this generation.

  35. Repetitive jobs will be replaced by technology (Robots and Software) and there will be an increasing demand for jobs related to Science and Bussiness.
My future will be more automated, robots will replace assembly line workers and software will replace accountants, but maybe this will cause unemploytment and monotony on some jobs, because creativity will be replaced by computer algoritms, replacing the worker identity. But trends will not affect the increasing demand of certain jobs, such as doctors and food workers, maybe because those jobs are related to basic human bilogical necesities and as longs the human population increases there wont be a drecreasing demand on those jobs. For me this trends would be benefitial because of the area i'll develope my work (Sciences), but there are a lot of unpredictable factors that even society can't control that influence the trends, like climate change and terrorism.

  36. I belong to generation Z which is a more technologically advanced generation. My generation offers many great contributions to society as previous generation have in the past. A few of our best qualities would be breaking some of the traditional barriers from previous time periods, we have a more ethnically diverse society, and women are stepping forward in the educational and work field. Same sex marriage is becoming more widely accepted and we are using technology to better improve our lives. Challenges for my generation are mostly wrapped around technology and how it will affect our communication and work. I feel that my career choice will not be greatly affected but will perhaps be enhanced with the use of technology. The only real way it will be affected is by a growing number of people from previous generations needing more medical treatment which would result in a higher demand for doctors, nurses and other medical related careers.

  37. This semester is going by rather fast for me which can be a good thing and also a bad thing at the same time. It is a good thing because I would be one less semester closer to finishing my degree but it can be a bad thing because I would have less time to get my grade to a level I want it to be. I am really enjoying all my classes this semester. I am learning more from the class I am taking than any other courses I have taken in the past. In regards to this class, I am learning a lot about myself. The knowledge I acquire from this class will help me tremendously in my education career and everyday life such as a working career. My favorite class by far is my paramedical microbiology class. This class is very intense as far as the amount of information I need to know and remember. I am learning a lot but in a fun way. The lab portion of this class is very interesting and it keeps me engaged, which is always a good thing. Also, my professor is very knowledgable and very helpful.
The beginning of the semester, I was not as motivated to go to class, study, and to do assignments. I got over the lack of motivation by reminding myself of my goals and why it is I am doing what I am doing. Sometimes all we need is a little reminder of what we are trying to accomplish and the end goal.

  38. I plan on going into the medical field and it is expected that there will be an increasing demand for the medical field as more and more people begin to age. Also many of the higher up positions in the field are now being done by assistants which is helping with the growing demand. For instance physician assistants are now doing the same work as doctors along with dental assistants replacing the dentist. A number of these careers are also relying more on technology to do their work, such as computer. I believe that these trends will only help my future and possibly make it easier for me to manage my career as I can become a physician assistant instead of a doctor which would be less work and the position will still be in a high demand. Honestly medical careers are already in high demand but the current people trying to get in the field are struggling to get in because it is highly competitive. After viewing this I partially believe that since the demand will greatly increase the competiveness will either stay the same or slightly decline which could play in my favor. With this current trend I feel I am more confident knowing I am making the right choice as it will be in a high demand and I will be able to help people.

  39. If a friend was going into an interview for a job that is very important, i would give plenty of important information and advice on how there resume should have been done and job interviews. The first piece of advice i would give would be too make sure that your resume is professionally done and is easy to follow. Second i would recommend putting all work experience into there resume. They will need to make sure that there resume does not have crazy font that is not difficult for any person to read. For interviews i would tell them that they should dress as professional as they can depending on the job they are applying for and that they need to just be relaxed when answering questions. One thing that they will need to do is prep a lot before the interview because many different types of questions or scenarios may be asked. When asked a scenario question most employers are looking for a specific type of answer and you should be prepared to answer each scenario question correctly and show that you are able to handle problems in the work place professionally.

  40. So far, this semester is going very well. I have a lite load, which is a nice change of pace. I am currently taking an Emergency dispatch class on campus; it is a certificated POST class and this online counseling class. In addition, I will be taking two online fast track classes beginning at the end of March. I have not encountered any roadblocks this far into the semester in either of my classes. However, I am faced with a decision to make, my long time career goal is to be a Forensic Specialist. Last December I completed my Associates Degree in Forensic Technology from Grossmont College and have been offered a forensic position in the Orange County area. With that being said, my certified dispatch class isn’t complete until the end of May and this new employer would like me to start in April. I have always wanted my certification in emergency dispatching and this certified class is not offered at many other colleges. Therefore, I am in a position where I need to decide if I want to continue taking this class and face maybe not being able to finish it, or commuting from Orange County to San Diego twice a week for a month until the course is complete. I have not yet come to a conclusion on this.

  41. Hello, This semester is going very good for me but other times it can be really stressful. I am taking three classes this semester and all of them have plenty of work, I am working hard to set time for each class and finish all the work on time. I am facing some challenges this semester I have plenty of homework so I am starting to fall behind and wait for the last minute to submit my assignments. But I can face those challenges by working more hard and get help from friends. I'm learning a lot about myself in this class and I am really enjoying it. The most difficult part is managing my time with school and fit in social life; sometimes I like to go out with my friends or family to breathe some fresh air but I don’t have time because I have to stay home and finish all the work. I am doing my best to get good grades and be successful in my classes. Additionally, In the future I know there would challenges but I am preparing myself mentally and physically. In the future I don’t have to worry because I am just controlling everything in my lifetime and knowing how to manage my time.

  43. If i were to give tips to a friend for a job that was really important, I would tell my friend to start out by spending a great amount of time on his or hers resume. It is important to have a clean resume that will make you stand out from the rest of the applicants. I would then say to look online and see if you can find any info on the types of questions they have asked in the past at that job, and to overall prepare to be asked anything at the interview. Be comfortable and yourself, employers want to see the real you.

  44. Planning is the most important step to reach the goal because each person has a faiths or hope for him/herself and their future. However, what distinguishes a hope from a goal is the plan and the ability to set goals as well as the understanding of the work, planning and responsibility achieving these goals. As a child, I had always think about what I would be when I grew up. When I was about thirteen I have had many different dreams about my future; such as becoming an architect star, successful business women. I never thought about being a mom and spending the most of my time to take care of my kids. I went throughout many difficult experience that I never thought about it. I entered college I didn’t want to just finish school and get certificate but I also to protect myself from this world. I mean, I can use my certificates with the experience that I gained by luck whenever I needed. I always loved working and to build my own business and career.
My career goal, which I have an elementary education and business major have helped me to improve my abilities, allowed me to have a better concept of what I would most likely be facing in the future when I accomplish my goals, and overall prepared me in almost every way possible to become a great educated mom . My hopes are that while teaching and support them be able to get more opportunities to gain, study, do something for my career. Career goals can include getting hired by a specific company, making a certain amount of money or working with a particular group of people.

  45. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?
The tip that I will give to my friend before he or she goes to any Interviewed is some advices about what they should do and how they should behave before they go. For example, they should dress well because the look is the first thing that will reflect on them and also will show how ready they are and give them the first impression of their personality. Also, when they go to any interview, they should know everything about this job because they ask them about it and why they want to work here and who told them about it. In addition to that, they should be confident and ready to any question and they must show them that they want this job and they are ready to do anything to get it because that what they are looking for a person who can do whatever they asked from him or her to do. Finally, I will ask them to trust in themselves and breath because if they worried they will not get the job. If they are ok, everything will be ok and the result will be like they hope. Everything in this life is hard, nothing is easy and if anyone wants something, he or she has to be patient to get it and that is common in any interview.

  46. If someone asked me what advice I could give him when he or she interviewed for a job is by telling them to follow the most important steps, First of all these steps is to get the resume prepared and know or have idea about the question the interviewer is going to ask because sometimes they ask the same question, but we got confused about how we are gooing to answer them and what should we say. So try to practice the question with someone else and let him tells you about your strengths and your weaknesses. Secondly, you always have to use your body language like eye contact and shake the interviewer before and after the interview. Thirdly pay to the questions and the interviewer, don't look around, don't chew a gum and turn your phone off, it is one of the most important things that the interviewer will think about when he figures out who is he going to choose. The last thing is to put on clothes that suit the job that you are applying for because some places they don't like messy clothes especially when you are interviewing for a position that force you to wear formal clothes. All these steps could help you to get the job and if you do all your best, you will get it.

  47. So far this semester is going pretty well. The first exams in all my classes have just started within the past week or so and I spent a lot of time studying for my first Psychology exam and felt confident after taking the test. Usually I procrastinate in lecture based classes like that one, so this time around I utilized my time better and spaced out my study times in order to comprehend the information better. On the other end of things, I'm struggling a little in my astronomy class. We have out first exam this week and I have no idea how thats going to go to be completely honest. The class is more science based and I've never done well in science classes. I plan on studying a lot tomorrow, procrastinating once again, but at least its the first exam...

  48. If I had to give a friend advice before going to an interview I would first tell them to research the company. The more knowledgeable you appear the more it comes off that you want the job. If you practice the most common interview questions, regardless if they end up being asked in the actual interview, you'll still feel more confident and prepared with your communication than you would be if you wouldn't have done anything in preparation. I feel like good eye contact and being genuinely personable is an equally important aspect as well. The interviewer needs to know that you are able to maintain yourself in a one on one environment. Dress professional and speak eloquently, but don't use big words that you can't define just to make you appear smarter. Be true to who you are because you don't want to fake your way into a job just to land it and realize its totally not the environment for you. Always follow up and be appreciative for the opportunity to sit down with the person, regardless of the outcome.

  49. Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?

This semester is going really well for me so far. I have three classes in person and this online class and i think its a really good balance. Between work school and time for my own personal life i don't have much room to work with. I could really go for one more day off just for me time if I could make up for it working more on other days. However; i can definitely make my current schedule work for me. Just by being a little more on top of school I could save a lot of that time I would like for myself. If I get a majority of my school work done on the days that i do work then i can really free up more time for myself on the few days were i don't go to work or school. Another roadblock i've been facing is when i have work and get a really sudden assignment due and need the time over the weekend. I usually have to call off which is okay because im close with my bosses but still id rather not lose hours i dont need to. I think the best way to get around this would just be trying to get on assignments like that asap and knock most of it out before i have to work and finish after. typically ill see it late on blackboard and get stuck.

  50. This semester is going pretty good for me so far. I’m doing well in my classes and I’ve done well the last five weeks. However, this is my first semester taking online classes and I’m taking two. NEVER AGAIN. Don’t get me wrong I love this class and everything I learn in it just like my online accounting class, but for a huge procrastinator with the worst time management skills online classes are not for me. I’m more talking about my accounting class since it’s a ton of work that I wait until the last minute to do and I always get stressed out. However, no matter how stressed out I get, the following week I do the exact same thing. I’m going to try and get more organized by making myself a set schedule to study. I need to pace out my work throughout the week. I don’t know why but this semester I’ve found it really difficult to concentrate on my work without becoming distracted. I’ve been looking up studying tips though and trying to do them, but it’s hard when I procrastinate. I think it’s been so tough for me since most of my friends are taking classes without homework so I’m always stuck doing homework while they are out together and I have no one to really study with anymore.

  51. Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?

    1. The challenges or roadblocks that I’m currently facing are working long hours and school. Since I work for emergency response I am on call every two weeks. It is my responsibility to response to these calls within an hour time frame to ensure the safety of the company that I work for. Since I am on call every other two weeks most of the time I am working sixty to seventy hours a week making it hard to maintain a stress free life. It is hard maintaining focus at work and at school at the same time since in both field I force my self to excel as much as possible. I try to be consistent in the work place because I believe in committing to my job. On the other hand another roadblock that I face is school. With the limited time that I have I must spend it studying and keeping up with me classes. Currently I am taking math, English, philosophy, counseling, and WWTR calculations a total of 18 units. The good news is that so far I been able to maintain grade average of A’S and B’s although it hasn’t been an easy journey. I always try to maintain a positive attitude to everything that I do and look at the reason that I do it. Goals are what keep me motivated to continue succeeding as much as possible in my life time.

  53. Tips I would give to a friend for an interview.
First, have a well typed of resume, preferably with a cover letter. The resume should be neat and organized following with a list of work history, education, skills and qualification, awards, achievements, and acknowledgments, and contact information of course. Second, i would advise proper attire. There is nothing more important than keeping an interview, not only serious, but also professional. You want to make a good impression. So dress business casual appropriate. Lastly, be yourself and have fun. Treat the interview not so much as frightened. Let the interviewee how much you are motivated for the job by being enthusiastic, fun, answering questions as if its a friend to friend conversation but at the same time keeping it professional. Don't feel interrogated. Just let that person know who you are and what's your ultimate goal and purpose.

  54. If a friend were to ask me for any tips on a job interview, the biggest one I would say is to be prepared. I would tell them to research not just the company but whoever the interviewer is. This would allow for a little bit of small talk and would also show the interviewer that not only is the job important to you but so are the people working for the company. Also, when the interviewer asks you if you have any questions to ask if there is anything you are unsure of even if you believe they said it. This shows that you are making an effort and my final piece of advice would be to follow- up with any potential employers within a week of an interview to just see what is going on with your application.

I had two jobs in the beginning of this semester and gave up one because I realized I was falling way behind in all my courses so therefore I had to make a choice. My roadblock was stress. I did not want to deal with school and work. So I gave up school for a little and I realized that that was not the answer. I slowly started to redo my assignments that were missed and luckily it still is not too late. I also feel like with the push of my mother I came back to my senses because the one thing I do not want to mess up in is school because school will help me get ahead in life.

Make sure that the resume includes the name of the person, an address, email, and phone number. It should also include previous employments and an objective. Another tip I would give is to dress in professional attire because presence is everything. Since presence is everything make sure to look confident, but not cocky. Also remember that posture shows confidence, make sure to sit straight and make eye contact.
